“Just Go” is a program that encourages women to go and get a mammogram screening.  A mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer early.  Women who are proactive and get mammograms every 1-2 years have a great chance of fighting breast cancer.

Facts:

  • Mammograms can detect changes in the breast that may be early signs of cancer, but are too small or subtle to be felt.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cancer death in American women. (The first being, Lung cancer.)
  • Breast cancer will affect an average of one in eight women sometime in their lifetime.
  • Breast Self  Exam helps you to become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel
  • The American Cancer Society recommends starting BSE in your 20s and to be done monthly.

Don’t let some of these excuses be you…..

  • I don’t have enough time
  • It cost too much
  • I have no breast symptoms/problems, mammogram is not necessary
  • I haven’t thought about it
  • I don’t know anyone else my age, who has had a mammogram
