Tobacco Prevention and Control
The Tobacco Prevention and Control Program promotes the prevention and reduction of tobacco use in the six-county area through a variety of programs and activities. These include working with youth in Governing Youth Councils and Youth Council Committees, providing educational presentations to schools about the harmful effects of tobacco, distributing information about secondhand smoke, and assisting both adults and youth in their tobacco cessation efforts.

In addition, we actively participate in community activities that promote healthy, tobacco-free lifestyles such as the Sevier Valley Substance Abuse Coalition (SVSAC). We promote smoke-free policies, and assist businesses, counties, and  cities create ordinances that protect citizens from secondhand smoke. Mini-grants are available for schools interested in promoting tobacco-free lifestyles among students and organizations in creating policies.
