Tobacco Retailers
Businesses that sell tobacco products are subject to four tobacco compliance checks each year. Compliance checks are required by law. During compliance checks, a Tobacco Prevention Assistant attempts to purchase tobacco. If successful, the retailer is given a citation for selling tobacco to a minor. Our goal is to prevent youth access to tobacco, and to assist retailers we offer a Tobacco Retailer Training. This course trains retailers on current tobacco retail laws and how to correctly identify the age of a customer to prevent underage tobacco purchases.

For more information about the Tobacco Retailer Training, or to become a Tobacco Prevention Assistant, contact your local county office or visit http://www.tobaccofreeutah.org/retail.html.
